Our Program

Our program offers stimulating environments that are caring and nurturing, focusing on the specific needs of each child. We recognize play as a vital path to learning. Speech and language development is a focus, along with opportunities for dramatic and social play. The children’s developmental needs are met on a daily basis through programs and activity choices with the assistance of qualified and caring staff, involved families, and a supportive community.

Our Philosophy

The primary objective of the First Flights Early Learning Centre and its staff is to provide quality childcare for each individual child in a group setting while maintaining Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations. This objective is accomplished by creating a warm and accepting environment that encourages the growth and development of the child. First Flights Early Learning Centre is a Licensed Child Care Centre that provides services for both military and civilian families.

Infants

First Flights Early Learning Centre has been specially designed to create a nurturing and safe environment similar to home. Our educators work collectively with parents to ensure consistency with the infant's daily routine, including nap times, playtimes, and feeding schedules between the home and our centre.

Our warm and nurturing atmosphere encourages infants to develop a sense of trust, autonomy, curiosity, and inspires learning. A variety of toys, games, music, and sensory materials are accessible as infants formulate new ideas, explore language, crawl, and walk, all while growing into little independent people.

At First Flights, we understand transitioning to child care can be different for every parent and child. Our educators and supervisors are here for you and your family every step of the way and will work together to ensure a smooth transition.

Toddlers & Pre-School Age

As the little ones grow and become toddlers, each child's individual needs are met by flexible scheduling, including structured indoor and outdoor activities. These activities encourage self-help skills, language development, social awareness, and problem-solving skills in each child.

Our Centre aims to provide an environment that contains a variety of challenging, familiar, and loved materials. The educators encourage a mixture of play and activities to enhance a wide range of your child's skills, including construction, role play, gross motor, problem-solving, discovering, communicating, creating, imagining, reading, writing, numbers, space, and measurement.
